Our Lemon Poppy Seed Scones are baked with a juicy mix of lemon zest, lemon juice and poppy seeds. Lots of sunkissed flavor, texture and crunch make these an easy breakfast or afternoon snack. These scones are so easy to make, with Just Add Water directions, you can quickly and easily make them anytime you want! 

Ingredients

Unbleached Enriched Flours (Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Sugar, Vegetable Oil [Canola Oil (Ascorbic Acid and Rosemary added to preserve freshness) and/or Sunflower Oil], Palm Oil, Buttermilk, Natural Lemon Flavored Pieces [Sugar, Enriched Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Corn Flakes, Corn Syrup, Palm Oil, Vegetable Colors (Pumpkin, Citric Acid), Natural Flavor, Annatto], Baking Powder [(Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Baking Soda, Cornstarch, Monocalcium Phosphate) leavening], Poppy Seeds, Salt, Natural Lemon Flavor, Baking Soda (leavening), Citric Acid. CONTAINS: Wheat, Milk. This product is prepared and packaged using equipment that may come in contact with Egg, Soy, Tree Nuts (Pecans, Coconut, Almonds), Sesame. Glaze not included.

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F.
Lightly grease baking sheet pan, line with parchment paper, or use wedge-shaped scone pan.

In bowl, add water to mix and stir with fork until combined and sticky dough forms. If dough seems dry, add additional water 1 teaspoon at a time.

Drop heaping tablespoons of dough (10-12) about 3" apart onto prepared pan.

For triangle shaped scones, shape by hand into triangle or if using a wedge-shaped pan, drop even mounds of dough into each cavity and spread into triangle shape.

Bake 14-16 minutes, or until firm and lightly golden on top.

STILL THE BEST!

When I lived in Southern California in 2003, I used to shop at what was, at that time, a "brick and mortar" store Cost Plus imports. My favorite items to buy were these scone mixes. Even then, all you needed to add was water. I was hooked! I tried all the different flavors available, but being a fan of "lemon everything", I bought this the most.
I am SO GLAD that nothing has changed in the way you make them at home nor the quality of these delicious scones.
I recently purchased an Air Fryer (AF) as I live in a small apartment now. Turning on the oven, kind of heated this place up too much, in my opinion. So I thought I'd try it in the AF. Well, it was a case of trial and error with the temperature and timing. But, I think I finally got it down.
These wonderful scones took less time and tasted great, even cooked in the AF!
Bottom line, I'm so glad I found these scone mixes again and the recipe has not changed. In fact, they're even better. I *TOTALLY* recommend them!

Easy and delicious

I love these scones! When I bring them to a friend's, everyone raves. I use a cookie scoop and make 10-12 at a time You can freeze some for later !

Easy & Fabulous

I had the apple scones at a friend’s home and they were delicious! When we left she gave us a package of the blueberry and they were also delicious! I was so taken with how good both were AND how easy they were that I went on line and ordered 6 more varieties! I made the lemon poppyseed yesterday and they were also a big WOW! Last week my friend bought scones at a German bakery and they too were great BUT not as great as the ones from Bakehouse! Thank you for this wonderful product .
